I am a at a crossroads in my life right now and have been for well over a year. I had a life, some would say the perfect life until July 26, 2006 when the world as we knew it ended. Prior to that day, I was a proud oh so proud mom of a beautiful daughter Tori and the proud grandma of Dean Springstube, a wife, and a friend. I worked in Real Estate Advertising in San Diego and for the most part our lives were finally where we wanted them to be.
Then evil stepped in and took it all away in the blink of an eye. Our beautiful daughter was brutally murdered as was her son Dean in their apartment. No signs of a break in, but then there wouldn't be, our daughter knew who she let in, and so do we. He was the biological father of our grandson, and the person we know murdered our babies to get out of paying child support!
This sensless act of murder ended the lives we had, leaving us broken and outraged. What has transpired in the past 16 months is a story I cannot believe is my life, nothing we had believed to be true is, things don't happen like the do on law and order, no one even knows about the double homicide in San Diego involving a young mother and infant son who was found HANGING BY NOOSE IN HIS CRIB!!! Or the fact that the murderers are still walking free.
We have spent every dime trying to bring awareness to this case, and still less than 1% of sandiegans know about it much less anyone outside of it.
We are trying to change that.

I am no longer fit to work in this present state of mind, and the doctors don't know when that will change.

I am a recovering alcoholic for 6+ years and I owe this to the love and support of my daughter.

What makes you sad? Why?
The fact that I cannot see my daughter and grandson grow old. The devastation all around me.

Love it, but now I read grief books instead of reading for the joy of it. Tori and I had some of our best moments together reading. It was our passion, and our relaxation.
