James 'CA$MIR' Robideau was born September 1st 1980 in Albany, New York. Raised in Cohoes, NY , a suburb of Albany, 'CA$MIR', learned about the everyday struggle called life. Being the only child of a single parent, he knew that he had a rough future ahead of him. While his mom worked two jobs, 'CA$MIR' focused on school and learning about music. Both of his uncles were drummers in a family band, so he was influenced to learn more about music, and what it takes to make it.
By the age of 12, he was writing and producing his own songs. Using a 8 track recorder and mixing all tracks analog. With aspirations of becoming a Rapper/Hip-Hop Artist, 'CA$MIR", started to do freestyle verses at parties. All of those around him knew that he had a gift! At this point in his life, James was uprooted from his city life and moved to a small town outside Amsterdam, NY.
This choice was that of his mothers, so that he could finish his education, and not lose his goals.
After starting over in his new location, James decided to use the stage name 'CA$MIR' , which is more then just a name. It stands for C-A-$-Me-I-Represent... and that he did. The first album Snippets Vol. 1 was made in 2000 containing songs from 1998-2000, finished and distributed in Upstate New York. 'CA$MIR" developed his style from influences such as , BIGGIE , 2PAC, JAY-Z, KOOL KIETH, DR.DRE, and the list goes on from rock to pop artists.
The underground production showed people what 'CA$MIR' was all about .
His ability to change styles and deliver with the same poise as an industry rapper
has caught a lot of peoples attention. Now after a 8 year stretch in Tampa, FL, and the unfortunate loss of his mother in Aug. 2006, 'CA$MIR has returned. Working in cities across the US from L.A.(818) to Tampa(813), and a little bit of everywhere in between, trying to build his name and reputation as the Ceo/Producer/Artist of Burntworld Productions all at the age of 27.
Either working on mixtapes, mixing tracks, making beats, graphic design or web design, 'CA$MIR' does it all. He is always looking to work with other artists in other genres to try to make a bigger name for himself and for them.
