California based singer/songwriter, Dani Raushi, has found her music developed thru the expression of communicating her life, travels and hardships after running away at 16 and being strong enough to be better than what life had thrown at her.
Dani is no newbie when it comes to performing either. She has been singing for as long as she can remember and grew up taking professional dance and gymnastic classes, which put her into performing in various talent shows and pageants. At 19, she got selected to sing her original music for a mini-musical that toured Italy called, "Made In America". At 21 she started writing in a rock/metal band call “PMLA”, (Project Mayhem Los Angeles). Dani soon needed more from the music and was able to be inspired by some of La’s finest. She soon started writing a collection of songs acoustically that soon became Amphetame.
In mid-2006, Dani flew to Australia to demo her songs with local Aussie musicians. Crutey, (full Scale drummer signed to Sony) provided the beat and his good friends Ben Brennan (bass) and Tristan Ross (guitar) to play on the recording. A visit from The Butterfly Effect vocalist Clint Boge resulted in hauntingly beautiful backing vocals on the track “Glass Ride”.
This seriously fun, yet productive session at Sing Sing, produced a remarkable 7 track demo that caught the attention of US producer Mark Renk, who offered to work with Dani on producing her debut album. What came next was 18 months of hard work in his LA studio, writing new songs and perfecting an already impressive collection of demos.
Amphetame is a collection of heavy, catchy riffs with strong pop/rock vocals that is also pulled back to some beautiful clean and haunting riffs that cover vulnerability and strength.
On stage, Dani’s strength in her vocals and obvious flow energy, along with her sexy demeanor makes you captivated then make want to jump.
Live Quote: Amphetame performed their debut album,”Truth in Lies”, rumbling walls that could be heard across half of the campus. The best moments of the night were the power of early song Take My Hand blowing out the blinds on the back wall of the bar. Dani’s amazing voice, dancing and showmanship covered most of the technical glitches. (fastlouder.com.au)
"Truth In Lies" was just released in April 2008 and to celebrate, Amphetame toured Australia in March, April and May with Aussie bands:The Butterfly Effect, Mammal, and INK. Good friend, Page Hamiliton, of Helmet, asked Amphetame to open for them in Melbourne, Australia ending the Amphetame Australian tour with a real rockin bang!
Also, Dani is writing some news songs with Marcos Curiel. Guitarist of P.O.D. Plans to record and release soon.
