It starts with a glimmer, A spark in my mind, hinting that photography can be more than just a quick way to freeze a memory. As experience grows, I notice that while others hope for interesting pictures to happen, I can make it happen.
Whenever I develop a picture, I never say that this photograph is good, and just go on to the next photo. I push myself to see how I can make that one picture better by asking "what's next?" There are endless ways to make a picture different than a common picture. Pushing myself to make something better develops a new way of creativity to the point that everything I do shows growth. Theres never a limit with anything in life. I continue to ask the same questions just like photography, "whats next?" or "How can I approach this differently?" I believe that there's always new ways of learning something beyond school and there's even more to explore outside this state, country.
As a young child, I always expressed my creativity through drawings and paintings. Through the years, I spent my leisure time composing two demensional drawings which developed my transition to photography. Like drawing, photography is a similar media incoporating my special inner vision. I apply my thoughts and feelings to incorporate a mood into my works of art. My instincts flow freely as I gaze through my viewfinder, seeing my drawing, my distinct image. I know that a camera can constrain my options to a certain point, unlike drawing; contradictoraly, it opens up new creative possibilities for me. The camera has the ability to force the viewer to look at things in new ways simply by how I decide to frame and focus the camera. Moreover, the camera can stop fast moving objects which humans may not perceive from the naked eyes. All of Art however takes some thought, time, and skill to produce an effective piece of work. Because in a photograph, I have captured not just the people and place, but the feelings and soul; therefore, I know I achieved an effective piece when the viewers show an emotional response.
In Life, I can only wonder how far I can go. I describe myself as a person who always unravels a new technique of learning or a style which I can always refer to in a journey that always has a continuous road. My family, teachers and peers have offered me guidance which helped me decide which roads to choose. Its at this point that I fully appreciate at how far I have come, yet I can't help wondering how far I can go. Having the desire to succeed in a stimulating environment and to ultimately connect with the audience, I can reach a higher level of achievement. Whats Next?
