I love to write. I live to write. I'm published in romance and erotic romance in comedy romance, time travel, vampire romance, paranormal romance, futuristic space-saga romance, and some MMFs. I'm a wife, mom, daughter, friend, employee, boss... I love cats and dogs, especially cats. I adore my kids, the furry and non-furry ones.
What is your current occupation? Do you enjoy it?
I have two occupations. By day, I'm a mild-mannered customer service manager for a charity that serves the destitute poor of the Caribbean and Latin America. By night (and weekends), I'm the cape-crusading romance author, Ashley Ladd. And yes! I enjoy both careers and both my egos.

What is your educational background? Are you currently in school?
I have an AA in Business, a BSBA in Accounting, and an MBA (obviously, in business administration), but my heart's always been with the beauty of the written word.

Describe your lifestyle and current relationship status:
I've been married for 28 years to the same man (only marriage). We have five children and two grandchildren (and five cats and two dogs). We're a middle-class US family living the American Dream and loving it.

Do you have any vices (smoking/drinking/etc)? Describe:
I drink too much soda and lately, I'm eating the wrong things. I'm not a smoker nor a drinker. I don't gamble.

Do you have any "heroes" in your life or your work? Describe:
I think my day-job boss, and my editors for the books, and my publishers, are all awesome. So are my fellow writers.

What makes you happy? Why?
Cats. My kids and grand kids. Being outdoors on a sunny, slightly breezy day. Playing in water. Reading or watching a mushy romance. Walking. Watching my daughter play softball. Languishing in a long, luxurious bath while reading a lusty romance. Catching fireflies. Visiting Cincinnati. Visiting my dad. Sushi. Cincinnati chili spaghetti. Rollerskating. Star Trek and Star Wars. American Idol. Smallville and Superman. Spending time with my friends. Cranking up my music while driving. Why??? They make me feel good. They give me hope and joy.

What makes you sad? Why?
I miss my mom - she's been gone 20 years now. I miss the hearing in my left ear - I'm a disabled vet for hearing loss. I'm homesick for Cincinnati and I'm sad I don't get to visit more. I miss my dad who is up in Cincinnati. Injustice. Backbiting.

My family. My cats. My dogs. Books. My comptuer/Internet.

Describe your most "humbling" moment:
When my editors reject my books. Also when I was demoted at the day job several years ago. (Fortunately, I got a second chance and got promoted again - same position - manager).

Do you have favorite type of music? Favorite bands or singers?
Rock and roll. Moldy oldies. I'm starting to like country music.
I love the Beatles, Elvis, the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Frankie Valley & The Four Seasons, Diana Ross, The 4 Tops, Chris Daughtry, Constantine Maroulis, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Bo Bice, Jordin Sparks, The Bee Gees.

What type of films do you enjoy? Please give some examples:

Do you enjoy television? Which programs?
I don't watch a lot of tv - I'm more of a movie watcher. But I love a couple of shows: American Idol, Smallville, Lois & Clark, Charmed, Star Trek (all of them, but in particular the original with Kirk & Spock, and Voyager)

Do you like to read? If so, what books have you enjoyed recently?
Of course! Very much. The Stand (my absolute favorite of all time), Gone With The Wind, Pride & Prejudice, anything by Sherryl Woods,

Do you follow sports? Which teams are you interested in?
Douglas Lady Eagles (High School JV) and the Red Sox - my dauaghter's fast pitch softball teams. Those are my favorites. Otherwise, I like the Cincinnati Reds and the Florida Marlins. I also like to watch ice figure skating.

Do you have any hobbies or other interests? Describe:
I used to do ceramics, but haven't in years. same with embroidery. I like to walk, swim, and work out at the gym. I love to watch movies. I like to hang out with my kids. I like to play on the internet and dabble with Paint Shop Pro.

Where are your favorite places? Where would you like to go most?
I love to walk at the local parks, two in particular. I love to write and read at Borders and Barnes & Nobles. I love the movie theaters, in particular, Magnolia. I absolutely love my dad's house and Cincinnati & the Ohio River (I really miss boating and waterskiing there). I miss Biloxi Beach and would like to see it again. I loved New Orleans. I miss Omaha. I loved San Francisco (where we honeymooned - especially Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown). I love my new home town of CS, too. I love to drive under the CS covered bridge in The Hills and detour that way whenever I can. I love to drive through Parkland. I love my dayjob - my daytime home.
Out of the places I've never been and would still like to visit, let's see: Philadelphia, Montana - my grandpa's homestead, Australia, New Zealand, Germany (my ancestors' home), Britain (all of it), Greece, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Arizona, Maine.
